Miss Moxie Mini Scrapbook

I had a great time sharing this cute book with Suelyn and her scrapbooking group on Friday night! The idea came from Kristina Werner's Blog. She gives some great instructions, so check them out! I love how the book uses one sheet of 12x12, a few scraps, some ribbon and staples! Of course, I had to add a Bazzill Bitty Blossom, too. Isn't this book fun? You should really try one!

I did another version of this book with pictures of our first family trip to Disney. It's a great size book to share those fun family moments!

Manila Folder Book

Well, if you've been waiting for the details on the Manila Folder Book, here they are! It's a fun project that can be made into a pocket organizer, mini scrapbook--the possibilities are endless.

Mine features The Angel Company's new paper collection, Amberley Grace. I love the subtle colors. The stamps used were Artsy Elements from TAC and the upcoming February 2008 Vintage Stamp of the Month, Memories.

Festive Photo Ornaments

Well, if you haven't put away all your decorations and you just got your holiday photos printed, you might like to try this project today!

Isn't it cute? My friend Mary Leeson made this for me and I've been meaning to post a picture of it, as well as all the other awesome goodies she sent me during our Secret Sister Swap! I added little pictures and decided it was just the right size to hang on the tree. I love the idea of looking at past holiday memories as you trim the tree.

Mary made this by folding two sides of holiday paper toward the middle and letting them overlap. She sealed the overlap and then folded the whole piece in half, so that there were two pockets to put the cute tags. Eyelets hold it all together. I love it!

She also made me a larger version of this as an "All About Me" mini book with The Angel Company's Sands of Time Paper. Hello Fall Emboss Resist Card

Well, you've probably noticed that I like emboss/resist techniques and here's another one that's similar to what people call Joseph's Coat. I used TAC's Rustic Chic and the miniature maple leaf from the Pressed Flowers stamp set. That paper is especially beautiful for fall, but I love using it all year long.
It's cooling down here in Colorado. Fall is definitely in the air. Perfect weather for getting back to our crafts, catching up on making cards and scrapbooking. Get on my mailing list for some exciting upcoming events!

Ink Up Bazzill Bitty Blossoms and Heidi Swapp Florals

I have such fun with florals. Whether they are vibrantly colored, like our Assorted Bazzill Bitty Blossoms or are white (we have the White Bitty Blossoms and White Heidi Swapp Florals) they are fun to use and even more fun to color with a little ink. I like Palette Inks the best, but they are also beautiful with the Versamagic chalk inks.
Our Hydra Sponges can be turned into at least six perfectly sized applicators by cutting them into wedges. I have one in each basic color and keep them near my desk. (You get 6 in a package for $6.95 so they will last forever!) They are perfect for adding a touch of color to paper (obviously) as well. And don't stop there! Ink up ribbons, staples, Paper Posies, chipboard, book binding tape--you name it. When you add a little ink to your project, everything coordinates. Everything harmonizes. What could be more fun and easy than that?

Stamp Stitched CD Folder Book

You will love making this little book from CD folders, Matchmaker cardstock and A Little Whimsy paper. I got the idea from Heather Scott's Oz-Some Blog. I love her stuff! She gives all the instructions and pictures. I added a Heidi Swapp Floral (we carry the white ones and it's so easy to coordinate them to your project by sponging them with a little ink!) I also made a little button with my Ellison Big Shot and a little embroidery floss. Get everything you need to do this Stamp Stitching technique with my kit. It really gives paper crafts the look of frayed fabric and it's just sew much fun!

Paisley Mini Scrapbook

I made this fun book from a kit I got from Stephanie Breckbill's mini scrapbook class. It was so easy and the kit even comes with the Paisley Rockz stamp set! Can you believe that this is one set I never got, but now I'm in love with it! I added the hostess set Younique and used pictures of my kids from Easter. Charming Chalk Techniques

Happy Bugday, and Hello to all the new friends I met at the stamping convention this weekend! It is so much fun to spend a day and a half with people who love to do what I do and share ideas. Here is a card from my Saturday class. We made the card tin and filled it with four cute cards. This one uses our Versamagic Tea Leaves chalk ink. It's so soft and velvety. I added a little blue sparkle to his wings with Jewel Tones chalk. I love those chalks! You can color with them using a blender pen, sweep it over Versamark or add it to an image that's been freshly stamped with chalk ink. It's such a nice effect. I also created faux brads with Liquid Pearls and I have a really fun tip for how I did the grass. Well, you love using Versamark on cardstock to give it that watermark look, right? On Matchmaker Cardstock, there's a little trick to get that look. After stamping, you lightly sand the paper with a sanding block and the image appears like magic! You've got to try this! Egg Hunt Mini Scrapbook

What could be more fun than sharing your memories? That's why I love mini scrapbooks so much. You are much more likely to carry and share your latest smiles when they are so cute and easy to slip in your purse.
I made this book as a thank you gift. My friend Annie throws a huge egg hunt at her house every year and I think she will love having this little book as a reminder of the fun we had this year. The size of the book is 4x6, so it was so easy to put together. Also, if she wants to add pictures, she can just punch a hole in the picture and place it inside.
I used Mulberry Meadow paper and pulled the purple, green and pale blue colors out for the pages. (We have a Matchmaker Cardstock Stack that is filled with colors that coordinate with TAC's papers.) For inks, I used Versamagic inks: Purple Hydrangia and Sea Breeze. You've got to try these inks. They are so soft and pretty! To hold it all together, I used a ring that I got from one of the kid's little activity books, but a book ring would work great too. Add a few ribbons and you're done!

Indexing Unmounted Rubber Stamps

I've been asked often about a process I teach that makes using unmounted rubber stamps even easier to use. It's called indexing, and when done during the assembly of new rubber stamps, you can see the actual image printed on the Creative Cling through your acrylic block.

The supplies include Kai or other sharp, sturdy scissors, Palette ink and your rubber stamp. Palette works well because it is fast drying and waterproof. Creative Cling, which comes with all stamps from The Angel Company(tm), has a sticky side, which adheres to the rubber, making a permanent cushion for the rubber image. The other side is a revolutionary surface like window cling, which allows you to mount the rubber stamp onto an acrylic block for stamping and remove for storage.

Here are the steps:

Determine the sticky and cling sides of the Creative Cling, but leave the paper backing in place. Position the rubber onto the cling with the sticky side laying against the back of the rubber (the way in which the stamp will eventually be assembled.) Match up one corner so that the rubber and cling line up as closely as possible and cut out a notch. This willl serve as a guide through the rest of the process.


Lay the rubber on the work suface and pat the inkpad on top of it to apply ink to all areas of the image. Remove the paper backing from the cling side of the foam. Using the notch as a guide, lay the foam onto the inked rubber, to transfer the image. Press lightly with your fingertips to be sure that the entire image gets transfered.

Carefully pull the foam back and clean the ink from the rubber. Allow the cling to dry for a few moments.

Peel back the liner on the sticky side half way, starting with the notched edge. Carefully line up the rubber with the foam as closely as possible, using the notch as a guide. Remove the remainder of the foam.

With the rubber side facing up, cut out the images, being sure to hold the scissors at a 90 degree angle with the rubber. This ensures that the gray foam remains behind the rubber surface as a foundation.


Your stamps are now ready to use and even easier to position (and read) as you stamp your projects!

No-Sew Spring Card

I love this Stamp Stitching technique. It's so quick and easy and really looks like fabric. You start with stitches from the Running Stitches set and then just rough up the edge of the paper with an edge distresser. (Click on the photo for a larger view.) Of course, every card could use a few Stickles. Sew fun!

Faux Batiking

This colorful technique is actually fairly simple and lots of fun. I made this card for a stamping event last weekend and so many people asked me for instructions that I thought I would share them here. You start with white mulberry paper, stamp and emboss it with clear powder. Spritz the paper with a little water, then use a brayer to add two different colors or try using a Kaliedacolor pad. For this card, I used two Palette pads: Boudoir Blush and Claret. The water helps the inks to blend together to make beautiful combinations. Next, iron the paper between two pieces of plain newsprint on medium-high heat. This will pull the embossing powder out of the mulberry paper as it is absorbed by the newsprint. What's left over is the soft look of a beautiful silk scarf or sarong. See this idea in a totally different color combination on this fall card. Now it's your turn! Birthday Wishes

I had some February birthday cards to make, so I sat down to play with the new TAC Incentive Set, The Good Life. What fun! There are so many cute phrases. And it's not just for birthdays. I made a neat Valentine with it, and it's perfect for scrapbooking. I'm going to feature this set in my upcoming card tin class.
