CD Photo Cube (Tutorial)

I don't think I've ever been more excited about a project. This photo cube is made out of CD cases! Isn't that neat? I made one for myself and I gave one today as a gift swap at our Club Med Luncheon (managers/executives/directors) at TAC's annual seminar in Wichita, Kansas. Measurements:
For the Base:
1 8"x 8" cardstock (scored at 7" and 7 1/2" on all four sides -- or 1/2" and 1" in from each edge)
1 6"x 6" cardstock (to add stability to the base)

For the sides:
4 4 5/8" x 5 3/4"(scored at 5 1/2")

Miss Moxie Composition Book with Clever Closure

I finally finished my journal from the Winter Angel Roundup! It's a composition book cut in half, so it's a really handy size and as you can see, I'm still lovin' the Miss Moxie Paper from TAC!

I cut off the edge of the inside pages to create a place for tabs. (LOVE my Mini File Tab punch!) This is where I'll organize creative ideas, scrapbook layouts, etc. Maybe now that my notebook is all dolled up with ribbons, I'll get organized! Ha!

I also came up with a neat closure with a hair band, which creates a little pen holder and holds the book closed. (See the photos below for a little more detail.) The coordinated Miss Moxie Hardware and Ribbons made this really fun to put together. Photo Turns are here, loops are here, and they come in cool colors here! (The loop is the little thingy I used to make my ribbon bookmark.)

The trick for the closure is to cut one large hole and two small holes in the back cover, creating a place for the hair band to loop around the extra large eyelet to hold fast to the back cover, while coming inside the book to make the pen holder. It then weaves back to the back cover so that it can wrap around and catch a large brad, mounted on the front cover. Hopefully the pictures will explain. Miss Moxie Die Cut Flower

I have had a daffodil Sizzix die hanging around here for the longest time and have not used it, save for one time when I took it out of the box just to try it out. I did get it during one the the 50% off sales, so I wasn't feeling too bad about it, but I finally put it to good use for this thinking of you card.
I used my new favorite sentiment set, Ordinary Greetings T2881 and my favorite Angel Company paper of the moment, Miss Moxie. Using patterned cardstock gives this flower even more depth and dimension. I also added just a touch of ink to the edges and curled the flower petals so that they come alive. I love how it came out!

PS- Were you wondering why I was quiet for a while? I needed a dose of SUNSHINE!

Miss Moxie Mini Scrapbook

I had a great time sharing this cute book with Suelyn and her scrapbooking group on Friday night! The idea came from Kristina Werner's Blog. She gives some great instructions, so check them out! I love how the book uses one sheet of 12x12, a few scraps, some ribbon and staples! Of course, I had to add a Bazzill Bitty Blossom, too. Isn't this book fun? You should really try one!

I did another version of this book with pictures of our first family trip to Disney. It's a great size book to share those fun family moments!

Get Well Goody

I still have a few stamping friends who haven't seen The Angel Company's new Inspiration Book and Catalogue, including my friend, Kim. She has an awful cold, but I thought this might just get her mind off it for a bit, so I made her a little goody bag with the catalogue and this little treat. It has spiced apple cider mix & a mini package of tissues inside. It's decorated in cheery Miss Moxie paper.

The to-go cups are from Target and they have minimal printing on them. I just cut a strip of cardstock with a little bit of a curve and used a large tag to cover where the ends meet. A little of the coordinating Miss Moxie ribbon gives it just the right finishing touch. The tissues have a some of the matching Miss Moxie Cardstock, paper and some ribbon too. It makes creating a complete mini scrapbook so easy and fun!)

I think I'm going to stock up on these get well supplies. The goodies are simple to put together and everyone seems to be getting the sniffles lately! (BTW, if you're curious about my reorganizing project, things are still a HUGE mess, but I'm making a *little* progress . . . .)
